Everyone is welcome!

Whether you used to enjoy walking but have lost your fitness or want to get started to improve your wellness, we're all in it together. We're a friendly bunch so you'll get the warmest of welcomes. Everyone walks for their own reasons, whether to ward off illness, manage health conditions or boost their wellbeing. Yet we all get more out of it by walking together.

Wellbeing Walks in Bedford, Central Bedfordshire and Luton

BRCC co-ordinates a range of Wellbeing Walks throughout Central Bedfordshire and Bedford Borough. Active Luton organise the Wellbeing Walks in Luton These individual programmes are led by trained volunteer Health Walk Leaders.

Wellbeing walks are regular walks which are free and open to all – though aimed particularly at people who are presently doing little or no exercise – and usually last for about an hour.

People are encouraged to walk at their own pace, safe in the knowledge that they are walking with trained leaders, one of whom will remain at the back of the group, with the slowest walkers.

At the end of the walk we encourage walkers to socialise – therefore many of our walks end where people can have a drink and a chat.

I can't praise [them] enough, it was important to my recovery. The involvement has helped so many of our members, after health problems, bereavement and loneliness. It's fun and the social aspect is so important…walking keeps you healthy.
