Boost your Knowledge - Resources for Healthcare Professionals

Increase you confidence in helping people be more active with e-learning and training courses, formal guidance, clinical insight and signposting

Whilst we all know the benefits of physical activity, it doesn't hurt to brush up on our knowledge. The following resources provide a selection of e-learning and training courses, formal guidance, clinical insight and signposting all designed to improve knowledge and increase confidence in helping people be more active.

Physical activity is a tool that can be used by health and social care professionals to support a range of health conditions, in people of all ages.

By making physical activity a routine part of healthcare throughout life, we can improve outcomes not just for individuals, but for NHS staff and the wider population too.

Staying active can help prevent, manage, and treat many of the health conditions that contribute most to time away from work—like mental health challenges, musculoskeletal issues, and multi-morbidities. On the flip side, physical inactivity places additional strain on healthcare services and is closely linked with health inequalities.
