Are you (or do you know) a six to eighteen year old who is keen to try out parkour and freerunning classes in Bedford?
If so, you'll be interested to know that Spiral Freerun, an inclusive Bedford-based parkour activity provider, have recently received funding to run some free sessions!
What is Parkour and Freerunning?
Parkour and freerunning is the non-competitive physical discipline of training to move freely over and through any terrain using only the abilities of the body, principally through running, jumping, climbing and quadrupedal movement. It is a way to be active that builds functional strength, fitness, coordination, and balance, and also develops mental attributes like confidence and self-discipline.
Who are Spiral Freerun?
Founded in 2011, the community interest company started out on a mission to build resilience, boost confidence, and inspire creativity across all ages and backgrounds. Rooted in inclusivity, they serve young people facing disadvantage, LGBTQ+ communities, and individuals with disabilities, welcoming every person ready to break boundaries and defy expectations.
Where do the sessions take place?
Store 4, 12-16 Harpur Centre
Horne Lane, Bedford, MK40 1TP
Participants will be split into year groups and offered three weeks of free classes, if they qualify with the funding criteria which has been provided by the BLCF and Frank Branston Fund.
Dates of the sessions are yet to be announced.
