As part of our #LutonLetsGetActive campaign, we would like to encourage residents and the local community to get active and moving as the Governments restrictions continue to gradually ease. Sport and physical activity has numerous benefits to physical and emotional health including reducing stress and minimising the risk of long term health conditions.

July's monthly challenge asks residents to #CaptureYourMovement, taking a photo or video being active, this could be a walk with friends and family or attending an exercise class- whatever you decide, please do send your photos and videos to HealthyLuton@luton.gov.uk- we would love to share these as part of out campaign.

Share your stories

We would love to hear your stories on how you've supported the return of sport and physical activity via our #LutonLetsGetActive campaign. It's never to late to start your journey or find an activity that's right for you, we would love to share your stories as part of our campaign to support other local residents to become active or try something new.

Opportunities to #CaptureYourMovement

Opportunities for families and young people:

Pushchairs in the park- Every Wednesday 10-11am, come and enjoy a 3.5km walk around Luton's beautiful Wardown park for parents with pushchairs, followed by Bookstart Rhyme Time 11-11.20 (bring a blanket to sit on).

Bedfordshire FA- Take part in competitive or non-competitive football, with numerous opportunities available locally. Find one that suits you today!

Luton's All Women's Centre- Find a number of women only sessions available locally, including; wellbeing sessions, gentle exercise and walking to wellbeing.

Walking for health- Take part in regular health walks near you at your own pace. The short walks are completely free and open to all and aimed specifically at people who are currently doing little or no exercise- start your journey today!

Total Wellbeing Luton- Healthy Lifestyles Programme- We can help you and your child as a family to become more active, eat more healthily and improve your general health and wellbeing.

Walking routes and playgrounds:

The Luton Project- Explore Luton and some of the beautiful parks and open spaces available, including nature walks with lovely scenery or woodland walks.

Komoot- Provides a range of walking routes with a visual map, distance and time breakdown as well as advising on the difficulty of the walk.

Luton Borough Council Parks- Luton has 47 playgrounds in various different places, offering differing play equipment for children and young people between the ages 4-12 years.
