Resources for healthcare professionals provides a selection of e-learning and training courses, formal guidance, clinical insight and signposting all designed to improve knowledge and increase confidence for health professionals who help people be more active.

Physical activity is a tool that can be used by health and social care professionals to support a range of health conditions, in people of all ages, and training courses and guidance in Moving Medicine, Making Every Contact Count, E-Learning for Health, Physical Activity Digital Masterclasses, Physical activity Clinical Champions, Active Practice Charter, and Park Run Practices can support you achieve this.

Active Luton, an approved training provider, offer a range of vocational qualifications, including Mental Health Awareness Courses.

The purpose of the Mental Health Awareness qualification is to provide learners with an understanding and awareness of mental health, as well as the common mental health disorders and issues. This is to help reduce both stigma and discrimination, encouraging people to talk about mental health more openly.


Activityalliance

The Activity Alliance, the national charity and leading voice for disabled people in sport and activity, runs courses to equip you with the skills to engage disabled people and people with long-term health conditions more effectively in physical activity.

Their Learning Hub provides training, workshops and courses to empower you with practical tools, creative ideas and resources to be more inclusive for disabled people in sport and physical activity. They are officially recognised as a CIMSPA Education Provider with Enhancing status. This means their training is quality assured to the highest level.


Turningpoint

Total Wellbeing Luton supports people living in Luton who want to improve their physical and emotional health.

With multiple sites across Luton and many free services, their offering is split into:

Healthy Mind Services: providing confidential talking therapies for low mood, anxiety and depression, supporting emotional wellbeing and helping you feel better.

Healthy Body Services: providing healthy lifestyle progams focused on physical activity, stop smoking and balanced nutrition to support overall health and wellbeing.

Talking Therapies Bedfordshire have a number of Wellbeing Webinars supporting those living in Bedfordshire.

Webinars can often be a helpful first step as they can help you gain some understanding of the problems you might be facing.

Talking Therapies Bedfordshire have a range of 30 minute pre-recorded wellbeing webinars, covering issues such as panic, motivation, sleep, postnatal depression, men's health and loneliness, whereby participants learn techniques and skills to help manage difficulties themselves. Being pre-recorded means they are easily accessed at a time that suits you.


Mind

Mind, the mental health charity, provide virtual training to improve understanding of mental health.

Their virtual training courses last half a day and take part on Zoom. Courses can hold up to 16 people. They have subsidised rates for registered charities.

Uk Coaching run courses in Mental Health Awareness in Physical Activity to enable staff and volunteers to gain the confidence to support people experiencing mental health problems effectively, and learn how to empower positive change and development.
