The environments in which we take part in sport and physical activity are really important community assets. We are committed to protecting and enhancing these and seek to do this in a number of ways, including:
- working directly with clubs and community groups to develop and deliver their facility based projects
- working with Unitary Authority Partners and National Governing Bodies of Sport to develop and deliver their strategic planning work through commissioned Playing Pitch Strategies and Indoor Built Facility Strategies
- working alongside the Sport England Planning team to protect existing assets and or seek alternative like for like provision. Where this is not possible we will work them and local planning teams to secure s106 or Community Investment Levy to invest into future facility needs as identified through strategic planning processes
